With a month to go until the 2021 National Club Championships, it’s time to get excited! As previously announced, this tournament is very much the postponed (and ultimately cancelled) 2020 edition, and as such, details are much the same. Nomination forms and updated competition regulations will be provided to licence holders for distribution to eligible teams in the coming days.

The 2021 National Club Championships will be held on the 12th and 13th of June, in Wayville, South Australia. This marks a return to June for the National Club Championships, following several editions held in October, most recently in Maitland in 2019. June has been the traditional slot for the National Club Championships for many years, and while holding the National Club Championships in October has been successful as a season-ending tournament, it was felt appropriate to move the tournament in order to accommodate more states having an aligned long-weekend in June.

The venue for the tournament, the Wayville Basketball Stadium, is a three-court stadium on the fringes of the Adelaide CBD, adjoining the Adelaide Showgrounds. A map of the venue location is available on the event page. This is not the first time Nationals will be held at this stadium, and with good reason. As well as being an outstanding facility, the venue is well served by public transport, being on the tram line, as well as multiple train lines, making accommodation in the city, at Glenelg, or on any of the train lines a very attractive option. Dedicated buses also provide an option to get from the airport to the city. For those looking at utilising public transport, Adelaide Metro offers a 3 day unlimited travel pass, with tickets available at the airport and ticket retailers citywide. More information here.

More detailed information, such as a schedule and match-times will be released once nominations are received. More information on peripheral events, such as the annual after-party, will be announced shortly.
