Today started at 8 with a nice breakfast. It was an extremely hot morning, so we decided to eat inside so we would not over-heat. After breakfast, we had a team meeting to discuss how our previous game went and what we could do better today. This chat was extremely helpful and was reflected in our game. after this, we had some time to rest up inside and away from the pool so we could conserve energy for the game at 4pm. During this time, the boys played Mario Kart down in the lobby.

After we had lunch, Zac made us play the finger game. The rules were confusing at first, but we understood it after a while. The loser of this game had to eat 3 of 5 disgusting foods left on his plate. This loser was sadly Liberty, who downed all 3 foods at once. Stinky cheese, Vinegar carrot and soggy tomato. We left at 2:30 to get on the bus for our game against Malaysia, listening to some tunes to hype us all up.

When the game started, the energy was up. Everyone was cheering and up on their feet. Ned got our first goal, and this completely lifted all of our moods. We were ready for this game. After both teams scoring a couple of goals, the first half became extremely close and almost a draw. Sadly, Malaysia got away from us with some extremely good long shots. However, we did stop them from getting too many run ins which was one of our main goals. During this game, we had several goal scorers, 3 of which being their first times scored in an overseas competition. Congrats to Will, Dane, and Caitlin! This game ended 24-11, which isn’t too bad of a score! All of us were happy with our games and felt good afterwards.

When we got back to the hotel, we had a pool session. Zac made us do yet another challenge, of swimming with our heads under the pool until we made it to the other side. Alyssa, Dom, Dane, and Ned raced. Us girls were cheering for Alyssa, but she sadly ran into an obstacle which stopped her from getting first. Then we began our stretching and cool down session that Dane lead. Once we finished that, the same people raced again up and back because Ned insisted he won the last one. We had an activity coming up after dinner about how much we knew each other, so we decided to get talking and asking each other questions. We found out some interesting things about people, but most of us forgot during the time of the activity. Some people during this activity knew more about others, some of us didn’t talk to anyone which reflected in the activity. One thing we all learnt about this was Zac likes talking. Once that was done, a few of us went to watch the Malaysia game in our room, inviting other players in to join us. This did not turn out well as Google cast was not working. We only got through the first quarter before we called it off and went to bed. Overall, it was a great day and we’ve all grown stronger as a team!
