Going into today we knew it would be the big one because we were going to play New Zealand. We all awoke for breakfast at 8 but it had to be quick because we had a team meeting at 9. The meeting consisted of a recap of the previous game, strategy for the upcoming game and most importantly, the singing of happy birthday to Zac who turned 33 today.
After the team meeting we had an hour and a half to relax and get ready to leave for the game but I think most of us watched back games from yesterday. The bus ride to the stadium was fun as always with Tommy Bs music. The game had a poor start but we started to pull it back in the 2nd half but couldn’t finish it off loosing by 9.
Coming back to the stadium we had missed the lunch buffet but we were able to eat as they served us chicken, rice and a salad. To pass the time some of us went for a walk to the shops and outlets stayed to watch the game being played. At 5.30 the players got together in one of the meeting rooms to play cards. This was cut short as the New Zealand team wanted to have a meeting in the same room and kicked us out. The pool recovery session was run by Ned and halfway through it a kid came swimming through the group with his flotaties on so we decided to make a whirlpool around him.
After the recovery session, Zac suggested a game which was basically rugby without tackling but with a hat. We played until we were about to get kicked out the pool which conveniently was when dinner starts. We all ate our dinner and afterwards the team got around the table to play some Zactivities for some team bonding. This included games of around the world and impostor.
After another disappointing loss we are ready to get a win on the board tomorrow. Go Aussies
