Following the recent announcement of the reappointment of the coaching team following a successful 2022 AOKC campaign, the time has come to call for players to express an interest in being eligible for selection for the 2023 WKC, to be held in Chinese Taipei in October. An expression of interest form is below. Please note that this is explicitly for the open squad for the 2023 WKC. Those interested in expressing interest in upcoming youth events can do so here, with previous expressions of interest in these events still valid.

Players are eligible to be part of this squad provided they are eligible to compete at an International tournament for Australia. International eligibility can be checked here. Squad membership will initially be open, and then proceed on an invitational basis at the discretion of the Coaching Team. A full program calendar, including training camps as well as regional trainings, is is in the final stages of development, and will be announced along with additions to the coaching team soon.

Any players looking to represent Australia internationally are required to be members of this squad, but these squads can also present a development opportunity for players looking to elevate their game without necessarily looking to play internationally. Players in any squad are expected to attend all squad activities such as training camps, however this expectation can be waived by negotiation with coaches. As such, non-Australian based players who are eligible to represent Australia are encouraged to express interest.

As well as attending all training camps, those players seeking selection should also ensure they participate in all National-level events, including the upcoming National Beach Championships (March 11) and the National Club Championships (June 10 & 11).

Additionally, a $100 deposit will be required on your expression of interest, in order to demonstrate the sincerity of the application, as well as the ability to cover ongoing costs. For those selected, this will come off the final bill, and it will be returned to those who miss out on selection. Unfortunately, Korfball remains self-funded, and while fundraising support will be offered to those selected, it is necessary we ensure all potential players are able to commit to the costs involved. An invoice for the deposit will be issued on receipt of the expression of interest.

More information on coaching appointments and squad activities will be published as it becomes available.
