IKF Oceania has two members, Australia and New Zealand and those two members are primarily represented by two regions, Adelaide in South Australia (Aus) and Christchurch in Canterbury (NZ), although development work continues in other regions in both countries.

On October 21st and 22nd, youth squads from both regions will be participating in the Oceania Youth (U15) Korfball Challenge, to be held at various locations across Adelaide. This is a great opportunity for our younger korfballers to experience International Korfball and for Oceania to build a youth foundation for future international participation.

The Challenge will incorporate multiple formats of Korfball over the weekend with the Saturday (21st) being held at Priceline Stadium (Formerly Netball SA Stadium and ETSA Park) and including Korfball4 (K4) in the morning session and traditional Korfball in the afternoon. The teams will also play variations of K4 in the afternoon.

On Sunday (22nd) the players will head down to Glenelg beach to play Beach Korfball. This will provide an opportunity for new and existing players to come and try Korfball with posts being set up for players to try the game for the first time.

More information, including links to the Facebook events, and maps of the venue locations can be found on the event pages linked above.

If you’ve got time over the weekend, head out and support our local players and our regional friends.
