Following the conclusion of the pool matches yesterday, the make up of the second stage of the 2019 IKF World Korfball Championships is now known. Full details on the top 16 bracket, as well as the 17-20 pool matches, can be found on the National Team Hub, which has been updated with all of Monday’s matches. This page will continue to be updated as results and match-ups come to hand.

After finishing third in Pool B, Australia progresses to the Round of 16. In a sign of how close and competitive, all four teams in Pool B have progressed into the Round of 16, with fourth-placed Ireland being the best performing fourth team and winning the final Round of 16 spot.

Australia’s next match will be against the Czech Republic, at 7:00 PM Durban time (2:30 AM Tuesday ACST, 3:00 AM AEST), for a place in the top eight. Australia and the Czech Republic have had some tight games in recent history, with the Czech Republic prevailing in Golden Goal at the last World Championships, four years ago in Belgium. This match promises to shape both teams tournaments, and is no to be missed.

The livestream is available on the match page, and will be shared on the Korfball Australia Facebook page in the lead-up to the match.
