Cześć,

In the final day of the pool matches we found ourselves up against the number 1 team in the world, The Netherlands. We were all excited, and maybe a tad nervous, in preparation for the match. Torrential rain started during the bus ride to the game and we all got soaked walking into the stadium. Not a good start! At the start of the match we shook hands and exchanged gifts. We received nothing from them even though we gave them some awesome boomerang and kangaroo keyrings. I might ask my opponent for his back on the last night. It’s the least he could do after all those goals I let him score.Despite going down 30-10 it was a match we were able to learn a lot from and there were many positives to help us continue to grow as a team.

So at the end of the pool matches we have finished 3rd in our pool, which is exactly where we wanted to be. This means that tomorrow we play Poland in a crossover final. The Polish crowd is very loud so it should be a really fun experience.

We had a bit of a scare this afternoon when Josh Berney found himself feeling quite ill. But all is well as it turned out just to be a slight overdose of his athletes diet, Skittles and Cheetos.

Some of the players went to the stadium after dinner to watch the thriller between Germany and England. Germany won by 1 goal giving them a guaranteed top 4 spot. I had my first ever interview after our match and I think it went pretty well for a first timer. I don’t know why all the AFL draftees give such terrible ones.

So for now it’s lots of rest and recovery in preparation for tomorrows important game.

Up and Adam!!
