Following the recent confirmation of a venue, Korfball Australia is pleased to announce that the 2020 National Club Championships will be held on the 6th and 7th of June, in Wayville, South Australia. This marks a return to June for the National Club Championships, which has been the traditional slot for the National Club Championships for many years. While holding the National Club Championships in October has been successful as a season-ending tournament, it was felt appropriate to move the tournament in order to accommodate more states having an aligned long-weekend in June.

The venue for the tournament, the Wayville Basketball Stadium, is a three-court stadium on the fringes of the Adelaide CBD, adjoining the Adelaide Showgrounds. A map of the venue location is available on the event page. This is not the first time Nationals will be held at this stadium, and with good reason. As well as being an outstanding facility, the venue is well served by public transport, being on the tram line, as well as multiple train lines, making accommodation in the city, at Glenelg, or on any of the train lines a very attractive option. Dedicated buses also provide an option to get from the airport to the city. For those looking at utilising public transport, Adelaide Metro offers a 3 day unlimited travel pass, with tickets available at the airport. More information here.

More information will be announced as soon as it comes to hand. Nomination forms and costs will be distributed to clubs in the near future. The early announcement of dates is aimed at ensuring clubs have the most possible time to prepare, in the hope that this Nationals will be our largest yet.

Stay tuned for more announcements, as we seek to continue to innovate and make this tournament the crown jewel of the Australian Korfball calendar.
