With the 2023 National Club Championships fast approaching, Korfball Australia is pleased to share a few updates around this event.
As has been previously announced, the 2023 Korfball Australia AGM will be held in conjunction with the National Club Championships. Relevant documents have also been shared with the associated State and Regional Bodies for voting purposes.
As part of the AGM, we will be conducting an election for Directors to join the Korfball Australia Board. This is your opportunity to have your say and assist in the direction and organisation of Korfball within Australia. This role can entail anything from day to day operations, liaising with National and International organisations, to assisting in the set-up and running of National Teams and National competitions. Under the terms of the constitution, up to 7 members can be elected to a two year term as a director, and we are actively Directors to join the board.
If you feel you can contribute to the running and development of Korfball within Australia, we want you. Nominations for Directors positions can be sent to the board at firstname.lastname@example.org, and can also come from the floor at the AGM, pending the positions not being filled by prior nominations first.
The always eagerly awaited Nationals After Party has been locked in, with details and tickets available at https://korfball.org.au/event/2023-nationals-after-party. Tickets are slightly reduced in price from last year’s event, but still get you in the door and canapes galore!
As implied by the upcoming tournament being named the National Club Championships, there is an expectation that players will play with the club they are currently aligned to in all other competitions/korfball activities. Should there be any extenuating circumstances in which a player may wish to play for another club or entity, exemptions must be sought in writing from the Tournament Director prior to the event, clearly explaining the situation. The Tournament Director can be emailed at email@example.com.
