Following the recent Korfball Australia Board meeting, Korfball Australia is pleased to announce that the 2019 National Club Championships will be held on the 5th and 6th of October, in Maitland, New South Wales, just outside of Newcastle. This is the first time the National Club Championships have ventured to New South Wales, and is a positive sign for the national growth of the sport.

The venue for the tournament, the Maitland Federation Centre, is one of the largest and most decorated multi-purpose indoor sports facilities in the Newcastle area, and is sure to provide a fantastic home for the 2019 National Club Championships. For the interstate (and perhaps inter-city) teams and supporters, Maitland has a wide range of accommodation options. Federation Centre is also walking distance from Maitland Station, serviced by trains from Newcastle, opening up the accommodation options further.

The dates for the 2019 edition of the tournament have the added bonus of not clashing with the finals of any of the major footballing codes, with the AFL Grand Final being played the weekend prior, and the NRL Grand Final again being held in the evening, following the conclusion of the National Club Championships.

More information will be announced as soon as it comes to hand. The early announcement of dates is aimed at ensuring clubs have the most possible time to prepare, in the hope that this Nationals will be our largest yet.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
